Verses on Your Prescription From God

Verses on Your Prescription From God
Psalm 100:1-5

Today's devotion is the follow up devotion from "Your Prescription From God", which was our last devotion. And my hope with these follow-up devotions, is that we would kind of take in a second layer of this same truth, that we would spend a second meaningful time with God to allow these same truths to wash over us and to fill us in, to strengthen us. So, I'm just going to be reading verses that reinforce the truths in Psalm 100.

I really encourage you to get into a quiet place, if you can, for just a few minutes and let the word of God just soak into your life. We’ll read through these verses and then we'll pray through the verses and we'll be done. Then, when you need to remind yourself what your prescription from God is, you can come back and listen to both of these episodes. Allow God's Word to impact you today.

Psalm 136:1 (NLT)
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 136:1 (NLT)
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Let’s pray through these verses.

Heavenly Father, we give thanks to you today, Lord, because you are good, because your faithful love endures forever. And so, no matter what circumstance or situation we're in today, no matter what we're facing today, we give thanks to you, Lord, because of who you are and because of your faithful love.

And so, Lord, we will shout to you with all the earth, Lord. We will shout to you and we will break out in praise and we will sing for joy. Lord, I will sing of your love and your justice forever. Lord, I will praise you with songs at the top of my voice.

Lord, I will come to you with thanksgiving in my heart and on my lips. I will sing Psalms of praise to you, Lord. Lord, let all that I am, praise you, Lord, fill me with your spirit, that my whole heart would praise you, that I would praise your holy name, Lord. Lord, let all that I am praise you. Lord, I commit right now to never forget the good things you have done for me and are doing for me.

And then we, Lord, your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever and ever. Lord, we will praise your greatness from generation to generation, because, Lord, you are our good shepherd and you provide all we need. Lord, you will feed us like a good shepherd. You will carry us as the shepherd carries the lambs in his arms. You will hold us close to your heart. You will gently lead us with our young.

And so, Lord, I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and I will call on your name, I will turn to you and run to you. I will reach out for you and I will cling to you, Lord, and I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. Lord, as your church gathers, God, I will be there to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and to call on your name with your people.

For your unfailing love, Lord, is higher than the heavens. And your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Lord, your faithfulness extends to every generation, your faithfulness is as enduring as the earth you created. Lord, your faithful love, your faithful love never ends and your mercies never cease. Lord, your mercies toward me as your child never ceases. So, Lord, I will praise you with all the nations, all the peoples on earth. I will praise you, Lord, because your unfailing love for me is powerful. It is transforming. It is life changing. It's renewing and reviving and refreshing. Lord, your faithfulness endures forever.

And so, I will praise your holy name. Lord, I will give thanks to you because you are good and because your faithful love endures forever. Lord, I praise you. I worship you, Lord, I pour my heart out to you in thanksgiving and praise. I pray you will continue to fill me with your Spirit to enable me to always come before your presence with singing and with thanksgiving overflowing from my heart. In your mighty name and for your glory, Jesus. Amen.

Guys, we could go on and on and on with these verses.

This prescription from God runs throughout the Bible.

THIS is what God’s Prescription is for us –
to shout to the Lord with Joy
to worship the Lord with Gladness
to come before him with singing
to acknowledge that HE is God
that He made us – and that we are HIS
and to enter into his presence with thanksgiving and praise
Because our Lord – is good
He is our Good Shepherd
His unfailing love continues forever
and his faithfulness continues to each generation
