Mighty To Save

Mighty To Save
Isaiah 49:26

Our devotional verses come from Daily Light April 15 a.m. The focus of the verses today is the fact that our God is mighty to save. He is mighty to redeem us and to deliver us, and he is mighty to keep us from falling. The power of our salvation is God’s, not ours. And I pray that God will put someone on your heart that needs to hear these truths straight from God’s Word.

Jeremiah 50:34 (NLT)
34 But the one who redeems them is strong. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies…

Lord, you redeem us. You redeem us, Lord, and you are strong. There is no one like you. You are the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You are the Lord of the Hosts of Heaven. Your name, Lord, is mighty to save. And, Lord, you are mighty to save us.

And, Lord, you say in Amos 5:12, For I know the vast number of your sins and the depth of your rebellions… And you do, Lord. You know them all. You know each one of our sins, and you know each time we’ve turned from you in rebellion. You know it all, Lord, you know it all, and still, you save us. And still, you are mighty to save us. And still, you are strong to redeem us, and to deliver us, Lord, though you know everything about us.

Psalm 89:19 (NLT)
19 … You said, “I have raised up a warrior…

And that’s what you’ve done for us, God. You’ve raised up a mighty warrior to save us. The only one who could ever conquer sin, and death, and the grave. Jesus, you are the most mighty of all warriors. You are victorious in the eternal battle between life and death. You, Jesus, are mighty to save. You are the warrior against hell, and death, and the grave, and sin that God has raised up to save us.

Isaiah 49:26 (NLT)
26 All the world will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel.

All the world will know, Lord, all of creation will know that you, Lord, that you personally are our Savior. You have personally redeemed us. You have paid the full price, Lord, sufficient for all of our sin. Lord, Jesus, we say today you are the mighty one of Israel, and you are mighty to save.

Isaiah 63:1 (NLT)
1 “It is I, the Lord, announcing your salvation! It is I, the Lord, who has the power to save!”

Lord, you announce our salvation to all of heaven. And one day, Lord, you’ll announce our salvation to all of creation. And all of the powers of hell, Lord, you’ll announce our salvation to. Lord, you announce our salvation, and you rejoice in our salvation. Lord, our salvation is unto your glory. And, Lord, you are the only one with the power to save us, and you have indeed saved us, Lord.

Jude 24 (NLT)
24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

Lord, this is unbelievable. All glory belongs to you, God, because you are able, and you will keep us from falling away. Lord, whether we are holding on to you or not, you are holding on to us. And you will never let us go. And you will bring us, Lord, with great joy into your presence without a single fault, Lord, without spot or blemish as we stand in your presence in your own righteousness. How can this even happen, Lord? It’s too much for us to even grasp. The price is too high for us to even imagine, and your love is too deep for us to ever be able to comprehend. And so, Lord, we are left speechless. We are left in awe of you, Lord.

Romans 5: 20 (NLT)
20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.

Lord, the law proved to us that we could never deserve your forgiveness and that we could never earn your righteousness. Lord, the law showed us just how sinful we were, and just how much we rightly deserved your judgment. But, Lord, no matter how much we’ve sinned, no matter how great or how long our sin is, the greater our sin, Lord, the more abundant your amazing grace became. Our sin could never deplete your grace by even one drop. Lord, we can never deserve your grace, and, Lord, may we never abuse your grace. But may we, every day, be in awe of the amazing grace that saved us, Lord.

John 3:18 (NLT)
18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

That’s it, right there, Lord. This is it. Our response to your mighty power to save us, our response to your unending grace flood, our response to your mercy after all and all you’ve done to give us eternal life with you, our response is to put our full faith and trust in you as our Savior and as our Lord. That’s it. To believe in you in a way that includes us putting all of our faith, and all of our trust, and all of our hope in you, Jesus. And through that faith, Lord, we are saved. And we enter heaven in your righteousness. How can anyone turn down such a rich and free eternal salvation?

Lord, open our eyes that we would see the richest gift of life in all of eternity is being freely offered to us by you. And is freely received by us through our faith in you alone.

Hebrews 7:25 (NLT)
25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him…

And Lord, Jesus, you are able. And you are the only one able to save once and forever, all who come to God through you. All who come to God through faith in you and in your righteousness, all who come to you that way we enter eternal life with you, Lord.

Isaiah 50:2 (NKJV)
2 … Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver?...

No, Lord! Your hand is not shortened, Lord, that it cannot redeem. And, Lord, you do have the power to deliver us. No matter who we are, no matter how far we’ve fallen, you, Lord, can reach us in your love and in your grace with all the power in heaven to redeem us and to deliver us from the clutches of hell, from the very flames of hell. And nothing, Lord, nothing can separate us from your love.

Romans 8:35 (NLT)
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?...

No! The answer is no, Lord.

… Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

No, no, no, no! Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in you, Jesus. Nothing. No thing. Not one thing.

And so, we are convinced with the Apostle Paul, when he says,

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Say amen if you believe it! Amen!! Amen! Do you believe it? Do you believe that nothing can ever separate you from God’s love? Not life, or death, or angels, or demons, or fears, or worries, or the powers of hell. No power in heaven above or in the earth below. Nothing in all creation is able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

This is critical, take a minute right now to get real with God. These are some incredibly powerful verses. Answer this question: Do you really, truly believe this? Have you truly put your full faith and your full trust in Jesus Christ as your only way to heaven? As your only hope for eternal life? As your one and only Savior, and as your Lord? Have you done that, really? Talk to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies about this, respond to God. How can we not respond to God after a set of verses like this? Talk to God right now, pour your heart out to him in this moment.

If you have not put your full faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, now is the time. Today is the day of salvation – do it now. Do it right where you’re at, right in the midst of whatever life you’re living, right where you’re at. Stop, repent, if necessary, turn from anything that’s keeping you from this great love and God’s amazing grace. Turn from it, and turn to Jesus for forgiveness and for salvation right now. You can pray, right now, right where you’re at.

Pray…

Lord, Jesus, please forgive me. Please forgive me of my sin, and please deliver me. And, Lord, please redeem me, and come into my life, and be my Lord from this day forward. In light of all you’ve done to save me, Jesus, all I have to give back to you is my life. Please, redeem it. Redeem my life and use it for your glory. In your mighty to save name, Jesus, amen.
