The Plague of Pornography - June 2010
In the 1300's The Bubonic plague infected Europe
It became known as the Black Plague - or Black Death
at 1 point - in just 3 yrs - it killed 1/3 of Europe’s entire population
1/3 of Europe was Destroyed by the Black Plague
Today well over 1/3 of church attending Christians
admit to being infected with a plague
far worse spiritually than the Black Plague
The death rate for those infected with the Black Plague was 90%
& I believe that may be close to the Eventual Death Rate
for those in the church - INFECTED with today’s Black Plague
The "progression" from infection to death for the Black Plague
was often just 3 days
It has been said that a person contracting
the plague in the church today
can go from curiosity to addiction - - in just 3 days
The carriers of the Black Plague came unnoticed
on the ships that brought goods & food to Europe
The Black Plague in the church today comes unnoticed
on the "Ship " that carries goods & communication
The Black Plague of Europe - Before it was over -
( after 300 years) - destroyed 137 million victims
The Black Plague of the church today is just getting started
but I think 137 million victims might be a low estimate
for the number of lives that today's Black Plague will claim
The Black Plague in the church today - is Pornography
& I am not being sensational, or over-dramatic
by comparing Pornography in the church today
to the Black Plague of Europe in the 1300's
It's time for us to Wake Up & Admit
that huge masses of the church are being destroyed -
by The Black Plague of Pornography sweeping this culture

to make Pornography acceptable in the Mainstream

where they give you a huge bag
& you just walk from table to table picking up Free Porn
No seminars - no speeches - no events -
just a thousand Porn producers making millions of dollars
from normal, everyday, Americans
many of whom will be sitting in church tomorrow

& they set up a booth - & they give away BIBLES

& Craig Gross was at one of these Porn Conventions
& an obvious Porn actress walks up to him

& introduces herself as Michele
& she tells him that she heard him speak
at her Christian High School's Spiritual Emphasis Week
& she goes on to tell him that she became a stripper
while still attending Christian high school
& she had recently signed a contract to do over 30 porn movies
All this - just after Graduating from Christian High School
& Craig asked her if she still believed in God
& Michele said - "Yes, but I think he's really mad at me right now"
Listen Guys - God is not mad at those involved in PORN
God's heart is BREAKING - for Michele - & for you
Because BOTH You & Michele - have bought into the LIE
You've been infected with the Black Plague,
& your life - & the lives around you - are being destroyed
The only thing SADDER than Michele's story
is that 47% of church going Christians - are supporting

It's generally accepted - that less than 20% of Christians
give the majority of money needed to keep the church going
But 47% of Christians Give regularly to the Porn industry
if we could just get CHRISTIANS - to stop consuming porn,
we could make a huge dent in the industry

& you're struggling with Porn - You are Not alone
47% of Christian families admit that porn is a major problem
in their household - & that's just the ones willing to admit it
This plague knows NO boundaries
We are all equally vulnerable to its TRAP
In fact - there are major ministries dedicated to helping
PASTORS to be healed - from the Plague of Pornography
Not only are we battling the most PORN Filled Environment
the world has ever known
But we have a sin nature that is powerfully drawn
to THIS specific Sin
in 2Cor 2:11 Paul warns us - to be careful
11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
But it seems - in this area
the Church actually IS ignorant of his devices

Because the Plague of Porn
has infected well over 1/3 of the church
& it’s destroying Marriages - Families - & Ministries - Every Day !
1/3 to 1/2 of the families in our churches
are slowly dying of this Plague
Slowly destroying their lives - One Click at a Time . . .
Slowly trudging down Porn Blvd - to their family’s death
Maybe you think you can stop anytime
maybe you think it's not really going to end in destruction
That's exactly what Bill thought
Bill had become a friend of Craig Gross (xxxchurch)
& Bill came up to Craig one night - & said those words
"Craig, I'm at the end of Porn Blvd"
& then - Bill told Craig - of a 16 yr addiction to Porn
Slowly but surely - Bill was "Desensitized" to the same old pictures

Bill ended up in a Yahoo Chat room posing as a 12 yr old boy
& asking teenage girls to send him pictures
& then one day the Police banged on his door
& Bill lost everything
His wife left Him - Lost his Job - Everything he owned - Filed BK
& then Bill went to Prison for 5 ½ yrs
& Pastor Craig actually drove him to the prison,
along with Bill's best friend Steve
& driving back from the Prison Craig asked Steve
"You were Bill's best friend all that time,
did you ever know, were there ever any signs"
& after a very difficult silence Steve admitted
YES there were signs - & YES he should have KNOWN

I GUARANTEE YOU someone you know DOES

I want to talk to you - So you can begin your Recovery
& if you’re NOT looking at PORN today
I want to talk to YOU - So you can HELP your brothers
If you’re HERE - & you’re looking at PORN
chances are - you’d SAY
I KNOW it's Wrong - I've tried to QUIT - But I've FAILED
The Battle’s too great - I Can’t overcome it on my Own
& you’re RIGHT - You CAN’T Overcome it on your OWN
But Jesus Christ CAN overcome it - IN your life

Free From Indwelling Sin

YOU CAN be FREE from Indwelling Sin !!

Jesus promised in Jn 16 - that he would send The Holy Spirit
to Live inside of us - EVERY Moment, of Every Day
Jesus said the Holy Spirit will Convict us of SIN
& GUIDE us into all truth - & He WILL !!
& then in Acts 1:8 Jesus Promised - we would receive POWER
when the Holy Spirit comes UPON US
We would Receive POWER to be HIS Witnesses !!
& let me tell you in case you don’t know
A Christian Man, & Christian Family - DESTROYED
by the Plague of PORN - is NOT a Good Witness !!
Jesus promised to give you the POWER in the Holy Spirit
to be His Witness
But FIRST - YOU must CHOOSE- to DO whatever it takes
to BREAK the BONDAGE
& once Your Self-Will is Truly Broken
& once you are Truly Surrendered to God
I promise you - There is Guaranteed Hope
of Abundant Life in Jesus Christ
Thru the POWER of the Holy Spirit in you
Jesus said in Jn 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
NO Christian infected with The Plague of Porn
is living the Abundant Life
If you've been infected - You know you're Dying
You know you're slowly Destroying your life
But you can be Freed from the Bondage of this Plague
you can be healed & restored by God
& you can regain true intimacy with your Spouse - & with God
AND - You can keep your Marriage - Family - Job
AND you can keep - your walk with God
& in the Healing - you will find the Joy & the Peace
that Jesus Christ died to give you
& I Promise you Jesus Christ CAN Win this Battle
& HE can win it - in YOUR Life
But If you remain Un-broken & Un-surrendered -
continuing to drink-in the Plague that is destroying you
Then you’ll NEVER KNOW the Supernatural Power of God's Grace
that can truly Transform you
God's Grace - & Christ's Victory over sin - ARE Sufficient
& His Holy Spirit inside you - is your Power to live in Victory
The answer IS in:
Loving Him with all your Heart - Soul - & MIND - &
Living for Him - One Decision at a Time
I know - What you really want is a Quick Fix - Magic Wand
That nobody has to know about
& that doesn’t really cost you anything
Unfortunately - That's almost as big a lie
As the ones you believed that led you into porn
So - let me give you a brief idea of what it takes
to begin the Road to Recovery . . .
1) COME CLEAN: Confess it to God, & Someone else
Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)
13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
The first thing to do is get the monkey off your back.
Get face-to-face with God,
Agree with Him about your sin
& then tell someone else who can help you
2) WORK IT OUT: Prepare yourself for a battle
James 1:4 (ESV)
4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking in nothing.
Philippians 2:12–13 (NKJV)
12 . . . work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
You will have to work this sin out of your life
& you must be STEADFAST
& persevere - & not give up until you are Free
3) GET ACCOUNTABLE: Face-to-Face - Honest - Often
Galatians 6:1–2 (ESV)
1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
The one thing that will begin to put the Plague in its Place
is Honest - Face-to-Face - Accountability
That's not a Magic 3 Step Recipe
It's just 3 things you have to Look forward to
Porn is a lie - - It is designed to do one thing
to keep you SELF Absorbed
to keep you SELF Absorbed
Porn will destroy ALL your relationships,
as you pull away into your own “world”

As you consume porn, it becomes your life, and you will eventually
lose your choice to the addiction
Stop the Plague - Do it for your wife. Do it for your kids
Do it for your Relationship with Christ

Today - We must CHOOSE a direction for our life
Jas 4:4 - ESV
4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
I Pray today - that you make the RIGHT CHOICE
We have a God who loves us no matter what we’ve done
He doesn’t keep record of our wrongs
He doesn’t hold our sin against us
He's got something so much better for us
But the plague of porn is preventing you
from living the life God has for you
