You want to know what is so incredible that it is almost unbelievable? We are His inheritance! We are His portion. He loved us so much that He gave Himself for us. We are His jewel. We are His inheritance. 

It seems like God got the 'short end' of the deal, doesn't it? Like if someone gives you a $1,000 Christmas gift, and you give them something from the .99 cent store. What are we, that He cares so much for us, that He loves us so much, that He would consider us His inheritance? 

So often, we question His love for us. Because He's not doing things the way we want Him to. But how often do we just stop, and rest, in the assurance and confidence that we are His inheritance, His portion, His jewel? 

Read through these scriptures from the "Daily Light" Devotional, and try to grasp some of what these truths mean in your life with Christ right now . . . 

“But the Lord's portion is his people.”

And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. - I am my beloved's, and his desire is for me. - And I am his. - The Son of God . . . loved me and gave himself for me. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. - “But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of his own inheritance, as you are this day. ”You are God's field, God's building. - But Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. - A spiritual house . . . a holy priesthood. - “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession.” - “All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.” - The riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
