If we have put our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, then we have died, our life is hid with Christ in God, and we have been raised to newness of life in Him. So let’s seek those things that are above, where Christ is. Let’s set our minds on things above, not on the things of this earth. And when Christ appears, we will also appear with Him in glory.
Through faith, we have been crucified with Christ. It’s no longer our life, it’s Christ living in us. This life we now live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us. He died for us, so that we may no longer live for ourselves, but for Him. Therefore, if we are in Christ, we are a new creation. Old things have passed away, all things have become new.
Before Jesus came into our lives we lived according to the flesh, we set our minds on the things of the flesh. But now, by the power of Christ living in us, we can live according to the Spirit, and we can set our minds on the things of the Spirit. To set our minds on the flesh is death, but to set our minds on the Spirit is life and peace. If we set our minds on the Spirit, and walk by the Spirit, we will live according to the Spirit. If we don’t . . . we won’t.
